The Customs (Amendment No. 3) Regulations 2012 amend the Customs Regulations (Rg 2) with the following:
- Regulation 17 ‘‘Markings on cigarettes” is deleted and substituted whereby importers and manufacturers of cigarettes into Singapore should ensure that each cigarette imported or manufactured in Singapore is marked in the specified manner stated in the Regulations before the cigarette is released from customs control for sale or consumption in Singapore
- A new Second Schedule, “Specifications” is introduced
- The existing Second Schedule to the Customs Regulations has been renamed as the “Third Schedule”
- Regulation 113 “Fees for licences” is amended by deleting the words ‘‘Second Schedule’’ in paragraphs (1) and (4)(a) and substituting in each case the words, ‘‘Third Schedule’’.
The Customs (Amendment No. 3) Regulations 2012 was published on 14 September 2012 and will come into operation on 1 March 2013.
