It was reported by IRAS that the e-Filing tax return rates this year reached new levels of 97% or 925,000 taxpayers who e-filed. Including 31,000 taxpayers who filed paper returns and 740,000 taxpayers who were on No-Filing Service, the overall filing rate this year is about 94%.

Simplifying the tax filing process and the use of self-help options like “Filetax” SMS Mobile Service contributed to the drop in total number of calls to the IRAS helplines by 42,000 from 387,000 last year to 345,000 this year.
