Manual submissions of Stamp Duty certificates no longer required for e-lodgements

15 March 2012

From 6 March 2012, Stamp Duty certificates will no longer be needed be presented when the documents subject to stamp duty are lodged electronically with the Land Titles Registry (“Registry’) by law firms in Singapore.

In its place, a “Stamp Duty Certificate Reference” will just need to be indicated in the relevant section of the lodged documents. Prior to this, Stamp Duty certificates will have to be presented manually when the documents are lodged with the Registry.

The above is a result of combined efforts by the IRAS and SLA (Singapore Land Authority) to streamline the lodgement process.
