The Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill No 16/2011 was published in the Government Gazette on 17 October, 2011. This Bill seeks to amend the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap. 117A).

The Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill 2011 incorporates the changes announced in the 2011 Budget Statement which seek to promote the marine, biomedical and logistics sectors and lower their GST compliance costs and also includes other changes arising from the ongoing review of the GST regime to clarify the existing legislation and to improve administration.
