Customs (Amendment) Bill 2011 – First reading in Parliament

The Customs (Amendment) Bill No 19/2011 was published in the Government Gazette on 18 October, 2011.

This Bill seeks to amend the Customs Act (Cap. 70) and to make consequential amendments to the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276).

Key amendments relate to enhancements to the customs enforcement regime, changes to facilitate the sharing of information among domestic public agencies and changes arising from ongoing reviews of the customs regime for the improvement of customs administration or to clarify existing customs legislation.
